MECHANICAL MEETING FOR INSULATORS

Subject: Construction of the ceramic insulators for RFCB project at CERN, EST-SM group (112/R-A10 lab).

-         If the ceramic composition is less pure, it’s better to work it with.

-         Request to Mr. Parmentier (FRIATEC) price of: 1) just the ceramic material with metallization treatment; with ISO flanges (DN 200); and with CF flanges (DN 200).

-         The metallic collar is around 0,76 mm thick.

-         The treatments to be done to the ceramic are: Brazing (1500 CHF), thermal treatment to the collar (500 CHF), form to collar.

-         The collar is made of DILVER (Fe, Ni, Cu): material to weld metal-glass. The price for a sheet 600x2000 mm is 1500 CHF. It’s possible to be bought by EST/SM group.

-         The delivery time would be around 6-10 weeks.

-         The total price for manufacturing an insulator at CERN:

As we expect to make 4 insulators the total priece would be around 8000 CHF.
